σὺ δ᾽ οὐκ ἐπαιδεῖ , τῶνδε χωρὶς εἰ φρονεῖς ;
οὔκουν ὅμαιμος χὠ καταντίον θανών ;
πῶς δῆτ᾽ ἐκείνῳ δυσσεβῆ τιμᾷς χάριν ;

Antigone
And thus mine also produced your displeasure . And yet , from where , at least , ( is a ) more glorious report ( than ) can it be to have covered one’s own brother to lay in the grave in a burial ? All those men that ( would ) speak pleased with , if fear ( did ) not confine ( his ) tongue . But the sovereignty is allowed to be both very prosperous ( and ) to do and to speak ( what ) it wants for itself .
Kreon
You alone of these Thebans see this .
Antigone
They see this ( too ) , but ( for ) you they keep down ( their ) tongue .
Kreon
But are you not ashamed of yourself if your understanding of these ( is ) separate from ( theirs ) ?
Antigone
( No ) , for nothing is shameful to honor those born of the same mother .
Kreon
So then , is he not ( your ) brother ( who ) died ( on the ) opposite ( side ) ?
Antigone
A brother also from ( of ) identical father .
Kreon
How , then , ( do ) you pay honor ( that is ) ungodly in that man’s favor ?
Antigone
The dead man will not bear witness to this .
