And after a sumptuous meal , someone invisible came and sang , and someone played a lyre , invisible too . And there came to her ears the interweaving melodies of some large throng , some invisible choir .
Post opimas dapes quidam introcessit et cantavit invisus et alius citharam pulsavit , quae videbatur nec ipsa : tunc modulatae multitudinis conserta vox aures eius affertur , ut , quamvis hominum nemo pareret , chorus tamen esse pateret .
After the rich repast , someone entered and sang unseen , and someone else played the lute , which also was invisible . Then the united sound of a melodious multitude wafted to her ears . Al-though no human beings were purveying it , a choir was plainly at its business .
