ἃ γὰρ ἂν δυνάμενοι εἰς ἀδυνάτους πονήσωσι , πάλιν κομίζονται παρὰ δυναμένων ἀδυνατοῦντες ἐν τῷ γήρᾳ . ἅμα δὲ καὶ ἡ φύσις ἀναπληροῖ ταύτῃ τῇ περιόδῳ τὸ ἀεὶ εἶναι , ἐπεὶ κατ᾽ ἀριθμὸν οὐ δύναται , ἀλλὰ κατὰ τὸ εἶδος .
