ἰδὼν δὲ τοῦτο καὶ ὑπερθέμενος τοῖσι ὀνειροπόλοισι , μετεπέμψατο ἐκ τῶν Περσέων τὴν θυγατέρα ἐπίτεκα ἐοῦσαν , ἀπικομένην δὲ ἐφύλασσε βουλόμενος τὸ γενόμενον ἐξ αὐτῆς διαφθεῖραι : ἐκ γάρ οἱ τῆς ὄψιος οἱ τῶν Μάγων ὀνειροπόλοι ἐσήμαινον ὅτι μέλλοι ὁ τῆς θυγατρὸς αὐτοῦ γόνος βασιλεύσειν ἀντὶ ἐκείνου .
Tendo [ Astíages ] visto isso em sonho e confiado aos onirópolos , mandou buscar dos persas a filha que estava prestes a dar à luz , e quando ela chegou , [ ele ] montou guarda , desejando aniquilar aquele que dela viria a nascer ; pois , a partir da visão , os onirópolos dentre os Magos apontavam que o filho de sua filha estava fadado a reinar em seu lugar .
Having seen this vision , and communicated it to the interpreters of dreams , he sent to the Persians for his daughter , who was about to give birth , and when she arrived kept her guarded , meaning to kill whatever child she bore : for the interpreters declared that the meaning of his dream was that his daughter ' s offspring would rule in his place .
