σὺ ταῦτ᾽ , Ὀδυσσεῦ , τοῦδ᾽ ὑπερμαχεῖς ἐμοί ;
οὐ γὰρ θανόντι καὶ προσεμβῆναί σε χρή ;

It is not just , when he dies ,
to harm a decent man , even if you happen to be hating him .
AGAMEMNON
You like this , Odysseus , on his behalf you fight against me ?
ODYSSEUS
I do , I did hate him , when to hate was accecptable .
AGAMEMNON
So you say , him being dead , one should not tread on him ?
ODYSSEUS
Do not rejoice , son of Atreus , in advantages that are not honorable .
to harm a decent man , even if you happen to be hating him .

ODYSSEUS
Do not rejoice , son of Atreus , in advantages that are not honorable .
When a good man dies ,
it is not right to harm him , even though
he may be someone you hate .
AGAMEMNON
Odysseus ,
you mean you’re arguing against me ,
on his behalf ?
ODYSSEUS
Yes , that’s what I mean .
I did hate him , when it was all right to hate .
AGAMEMNON
Why would you not walk all over him ,
now that he’s dead ?
ODYSSEUS
Son of Atreus ,
do not take pleasure in advantages
which are dishonourable .
it is not right to harm him , even though
he may be someone you hate .
AGAMEMNON
Odysseus ,
